Mangalorean woman all set to contest Australian elections
Press Release, May 9, 2022, 6:22 PM IST
Melbourne: Mira D’Silva, a strong supporter of Melbourne Konkan Community’s (MKC) events over the years is the liberal federal candidate for the seat of Maribyrnong in Victoria. She has sponsored functions since MKCs inception and has played a part in completing the association’s decennial.
Mira’s parents hail from Kulshekar in Mangaluru. Mira was born and brought up in Bengaluru and migrated to Australia in 2004 in search of greener pastures. A successful entrepreneur, she is the co-founder of Delivery Centric, a specialist technology service provider having offices throughout the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Striving to give back to the society, she is the first Mangalorean Catholic to dive into politics.
As the resources for campaigning from the party is limited, Mira requests monetary assistance towards this objective. She is raising funds to support her political campaign. Any amount, even small, would make a big difference. Click on this link to donate: https://www.miradsilva.com.au/donate
Based in Melbourne’s western suburbs, Maribyrnong covers 98 square kilometres between Moonee Ponds Creek and the Maribyrnong River running from Kensington in the south to Melbourne airport in the north. It includes Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Strathmore, Niddrie, Airport West, Avondale Heights, Keilor East, Keilor Downs, Tullamarine and Gladstone Park.
The nation will go to the polls on May 21. Apart from Mira, there are six other candidates in the constituency of Maribyrnong competing for the federal seat. Spreading the word to vote for Mira D’Silva, history can be created by sending the first Mangalorean to the federal parliament.
