Koppala: Acting on the complaint of a woman, Gangavathi City police on Thursday filed a case against Kottur Swamiji of Kalmatha Peeth for allegedly issuing a life threat to a woman employee.
The complainant, Kamalakshi, a resident of Hirejantakal alleged that her co-worker Basavalingamma at a school where she worked as the cooking staff had assaulted her and threatened her that the accused Swamiji has a pistol and he would get her killed.
The Swamiji, who also happens to be President of Kottureshwara Vidyavardhaka Sangha however refuted the charges and claimed that the woman had been dismissed from her job in March as there were complaints against her.
The committee took the decision to terminate her as she failed to improve despite warnings and counseling. The Swamiji said that the woman was trying to settle the scores with him hence she filed a complaint. An investigation is ongoing.
