Sakleshpur: Couple killed in KSRTC bus – car collision

Sakleshpur: In a tragic incident, a married couple was killed when a KSRTC bus collided head-on with an Omni near Kollahalli Nandi Temple turn here on the evening of Friday, June 17.
The deceased have been identified as Chandrashekar (55) and his wife Sharada (52) of Kunigal village near Byakaravalli in the taluk.
Chandrasekhar, a writer at a coffee plantation in Ballupet in the taluk, was on his way to Sakleshpur with his wife after performing puja at his daughter’s house in Kandali village in Hassan when the accident took place. A KSRTC bus, which was on its way to Hassan from Sakleshpur, collided head-on with the Omni car the couple was traveling in.
Due to the impact, Chandrasekhar died on the spot while his wife died on the way to the hospital.
A case has been registered at the Sakleshpur Town police station.
Frequent accidents on National Highway 75 have created panic among motorists. The residents of the taluk have blamed the delay in the work on the four-lane road on NH-75 as the reason for such incidents.
