Bantwal: Passenger injured as KSRTC bus stops suddenly to avoid pothole; Complaint filed

Bantwal: A passenger on a KSRTC bus sustained injuries allegedly after he fell off the seat as the driver suddenly applied brakes to avoid a pothole. The incident occurred at Kalladka on August 17.
The injured passenger — identified as R Vijay Kumar, a resident of Uppugudde in Panemangaluru– has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru. He has now filed a complaint of negligent driving causing harm at the Bantwal traffic police station.
According to the complaint, Vijay Kumar was seated at the back on the KSRTC bus en route to Sullia from Mangaluru. When the bus reached Kalladka, the driver suddenly applied the brakes to avoid a pothole.
As the bus came to a sudden halt, Vijay Kumar who was talking over the phone was tossed off the seat and thrown onto the floor. He sustained hip injuries due to the fall, the complaint adds.
Further, the complainant alleged that the rash and negligent driving caused the injury to him.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Bantwal traffic police station.
