Madikeri: Heavy downpours for the past couple of days throughout the Kodagu district have devastated normal life.
On Thursday, September 1, the district experienced very heavy rainfall due to which some areas like Omkareshwara Road, Gooulibeedi, Indiranagar, etc., of the district observed a flood-like situation. The drains overflowed resulting in the entry of water into houses and shops.
The City Municipal Corporation deployed JCBs to lift the silt deposited in the drains and allow easy flow of water.
Meanwhile, the weather department has predicted heavy rains for another two days and has issued an orange alert.
