‘Three teams from Center to review rain damage in Karnataka’

Bengaluru: Three teams from the Central government will arrive to review the damage caused by the heavy rains in the state, state government sources said. The teams will conduct inspections from September 7 to 9, they added.

Incessant rains this year have caused huge loss of lives and property in the state. A total of Rs 13,654.75 crore has been released from the Centre and Rs 12,642.82 crore has been spent on disaster management.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, on Monday, held a video conference with the deputy commissioners of the flood-hit districts and reviewed the rescue and relief works.

Ministers R. Ashok, V. Somanna, Halappa Achar, Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N. Manjunath Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department and Development Commissioner I.S.N. Prasad, and other senior officials of the government attended the meeting.
