Mysuru: A police sub-inspector here has been suspended for involvement in the irregularities in the recruitment exam for the posts of First Division Assistant (FDA).
City Police Commissioner Dr. B.R. Manjunath issued an order suspending PSI Ashwini Ananthapura of the Narasimharaja Traffic Police Station pending investigation.
The move comes after audio clips of a purported conversation between PSI Ashwini and Sangamesh Jhalaki of Bagalkot district for helping a person named Basavaraju a job as FDA. A screenshot of the bank statement showing the transfer of money allegedly as a kickback to the officer also circulated widely.
PSI Ashwini was suspended after a preliminary inquiry by ACP of the Traffic Division found the allegations against her to be prima facie true.
