Udupi: Man convicted in theft case, sentenced to imprisonment

Udupi: A court here convicted a man accused of theft and sentenced him to imprisonment.
The city’s principal senior C.J. and C.J.M. court sentenced Philip Thomas guilty of theft at a house of an advocate.
Philip P Thomas was accused of breaking into the house of advocate Noel Prashant Karkada near UBMC Jubilee Church at around 2 pm on February 23 this year. A laptop and mobile phone were stolen. Sub-inspector of Udupi City Police station, after an investigation, filed a charge sheet against Thomas.
After hearing the matter, Judge Shakuntala S of the principal senior CJ and CJM court held the accused guilty as charged and sentenced Thomas to 8 months in prison.
