Udupi: A student’s fierce objection to a professor’s statement comparing him to a terrorist in the classroom, which went viral on social media, has been sorted out amicably.
The incident took place a few days ago during a class of MIT’s engineering department. In the video, the student is seen confronting the faculty who likened him to a “terrorist”.
The professor, who was at fault, has sincerely apologized to the student over the incident. “After the incident, I spoke to the professor and realized that he did not use the word intentionally,” the student said in a statement. They both have put an end to the controversy, he added.
The college, meanwhile, ordered a full internal inquiry into the matter and has instructed the concerned professor not to enter the classrooms until further orders.
