Manipal: A student named Nikhil (23), a resident of Shivamogga and studying at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) died after the bike collided with the divider on Friday, December 16.
It is learned that on Friday, a person named Mahendra along with his friends Nihal and Nikhil were going on a bike triple riding from Kela Perkala towards Udupi.
Deceased Nikhil is said to have been sitting in between Nihal and Mahendra. Nihal was riding the bike.
On passing a little further from the Tiger Circle, Nihal allegedly rode the bike at a high speed, due to which he lost control of the bike and eventually rammed against the divider.
Although three of them fell off the bike, Nikhil sustained a severe injury at the back of his head and had fallen unconscious, while the other two suffered injuries. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
However, Nikhil died before reaching the hospital.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Manipal Police Station.
