Kadaba: MESCOM lineman electrocuted to death while repairing power line

Kadaba: In a tragic incident, a lineman of MESCOM’s Kadaba sub-division was electrocuted to death while repairing a fault here on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Dyamanna Doddamani (26), who had been serving as a Powerman for the Kadaba MESCOM for the past 8 years.

The incident occurred when Doddamani climbed an electric pole for fixing a power supply issue at Taleki Road near Mulimajalu Kayaradka in Kadaba. As he was repairing th line, he suddenly got electrocuted and got stuck on the pole. Locals who noticed the incident brought him down and rushed him to the Kadaba Community Health Center.

After administering first aid, Doddamani was rushed to a hospital in Puttur for further treatment but he died on the way.

Dyamanna Doddamani, a native of Bagalkote district, is survived by his wife and 6-month-old child.

MESCOM Puttur Division Executive Engineer Ramachandra and MESCOM Kadaba Sub Division Assistant Executive Engineer Sajikumar paid their last respects to the deceased and offered their condolences to his family.

On hearing the news of the incident, Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai visited the Puttur Government Hospital where the mortal remains were kept. He expressed his shock at the incident and offered his condolences to Doddamani’s family and colleagues.

Apart from suggesting that necessary arrangements be made to take the dead body to Doddamani’s hometown, the MLA instructed MESCOM to submit a full report about the incident.
