Bengaluru: Ever since the Congress party came to power, their five guarantees have become the topic of widespread discussion and debate throughout Karnataka. These guarantees, put forth by the party as key promises to the people, have generated both anticipation and skepticism among the public.

The huge debate and confusion over the Gruhajyoti scheme somehow came to an end after the government finally released a set of guidelines regarding the yojana.

Now in a surprising turn of events, the Gruhalakshmi scheme, a Rs 2,000 incentive for the woman head of the family has unintentionally sparked heated conflicts between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law across the state.

The aim of the initiative was to empower women and promote gender equality, however, now it has inadvertently exposed deep-rooted tensions within households, leading to strained relationships and disagreements.

Under this scheme, which was introduced by the government to support women’s financial independence and uplift them from socioeconomic disparities, eligible households with a woman as the head are entitled to a monthly incentive of Rs 2,000. While the program’s intentions were commendable, it has unexpectedly become a catalyst for discord within families.
