Haleangady: The body of a woman was found in a drainage pit behind a house near Padupanambur here on July 19.

The body of the woman was found in a drainage pit behind the house of Pushparaj Amin and it has been identified as that of Nagamma Shettigar (85), a resident of Kallapu.

She had gone missing from his house a few months ago and a missing case was registered at Mulki police station.

The owner of the house, who lives in Mumbai, used to visit the property once in a while.
