Puttur: Man arrested for sexually harassing girl in bus

A man found himself in police custody after he was apprehended on charges of sexually harassing a girl during a journey on a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus traveling from Mangaluru to Puttur.

The accused has been identified as Udaya (40), a resident of Mangaluru.

The incident unfolded when the victim informed her fellow passengers about the harassment she was experiencing from the accused. The passengers reacted swiftly to ensure the safety of the victim. Udaya was prevented from disembarking the bus, and the passengers themselves took control, directing the vehicle to the local police station.

At the women’s police station, Udaya was formally taken into custody by law enforcement personnel.
