Traffic Alert: Entry restrictions and parking prohibitions in Udupi for ‘Paryaya Mahotsava’

Udupi: Traffic restrictions and diversions have been announced for January 17 and 18 in the city in light of the Paryaya 2024.
Udupi Deputy Commissioner K. Vidyakumari has issued orders to restrict the entry of stage carriage buses and tourist buses into the central area of Udupi from 4 p.m. on January 17 until the morning of January 18.
Buses traveling from Mangaluru to Udupi, Manipal, and Kundapur, as well as those from Kundapur to Udupi and Mangaluru, are directed to use the Karavali junction, Bannanje, city bus stand, and service bus stand for entry and exit.
Buses from Karkala should conclude their services at the city bus stand without entering the service bus stand, teh DC said.
Private tourist buses are also instructed not to enter the city on the night of January 17. Instead, they should pick up passengers at Karavali junction, the DC’s order said.
Parking of vehicles is prohibited in specific areas, including Jodukatte, Mitra junction, Thenkapete, Car Street, and their surroundings, from 6 p.m. on January 17 to 6 a.m. on January 18.
Furthermore, vehicular movement is restricted in the heart of the city, around the Sri Krishna Matha complex, during the same period, the DC added.
