Mangaluru: 65-year-old woman killed in road mishap

Mangaluru: In a tragic accident a 65-year-old woman was killed after she was thrown out of a bus and eventually came under the tyre of the same bus.

The deceased has been identified as Eeramma. The incident took place near Jokatte when the victim was traveling with her daughter to Surathkal.

As per sources, when the bus approached near Jokatte Cross, the driver abruptly applied the brakes, causing Eeramma, who was seated in the front next to the driver, to be thrown from the bus. The unfortunate incident also led to the rear left wheel of the bus running over Eramma, causing severe head injuries and resulting in her immediate death.

A case has been registered with the local police, and an investigation into the matter is underway.
