Bengaluru: It seems like demonetisation has not affected the zeal of the people in Bengaluru as folks are all set to celebrate the New Year.

Post demonetisation it was expected that people would not celebrate New Year with the same enthusiasm as they used to before.

MG Road, church street are the places in the city where one finds maximum gathering of people. The street shopkeepers association has made the same kind of arrangements

“The new year celebration is almost the same like previous years. Earlier there was apprehension but gradually it fade out as we did not see any change in the enthusiasm of people. Being 5 star hotels most of the payments are either made by cards or online,” said general manager of five star hotel, Move and Pick.

Event managers who used to arrange a number of private events even said that nothing has been changed post demonetization. As far as celebration enthusiasm and participation is concerned there was no impact of demonetization on New Year’s eve.
