The apex court in an order has cancelled the order issued by the high court on Akrama Sakrama in December last year after hearing an appeal submitted by Namma Bengaluru Foundation on Friday.

Last year, Karnataka high court had given its green signal to the state government’s Akrama-Sakrama scheme aimed to convert illegal structures, buildings, land and others into legal based on certain restrictions in the state after dismissing two separate Public Interest Litigations (PIL) submitted by the Mangaluru Abhivridhi Nagarika Vedike and Namma Bengaluru Foundation urging the high court to cancel state government’s notification on Akrama-Sakrama issued on May 28, 2014 to convert illegal structures, land and others into legal based on certain criteria.
