Stone laying ceremony held for reconstruction of Koti-Chennaya heritage sites at Padumale in Dakshina Kannada

Puttur: Stone laying ceremony for reconstruction of nine historical sites related to twin cultural folk heroes of Tulu Nadu Koti-Chennaya located at Padumale in Puttur Taluk of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district was held on Sunday. According to the plans made, nine historical places including, Koti-Chennaya Mulasthana Garadi, Bermer Gunda, tomb of Deyi Baidethi, Saroli Saimanja Katte, residence of Koti and Chennaya, Dharma Chavadi, Dhoomavathi Daivasthana, Kuppe Panjurli Daivasthana, Kalaldaya Sanidhya and the residence of owners of Koti Chennaya Mulasthana will be reconstructed/renovated.
The stone laying ceremony was held in the presence of more than 20, 000 devotees who came from various parts of Tulu Nadu. The stage programme of stone laying ceremony was inaugurated by Karnataka State Minister for Forest and Environment B Ramanath Rai in the presence of dignitaries and villagers.
Website on Koti-Chennaya, www.kotichennaya.com was launched on the occasion by Rajya Sabha MP BK Hariprasad. Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Vinay Kumar Sorake, Srinivas Poojary, Badagannuru Grama Panchayat President Keshava Gowda and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
