Indore replaces Mysuru as cleanest city; Gonda in UP dirtiest

New Delhi/Mysuru: As per details released by the Swachh Suvekshan-2017 conducted by the Union Ministry for Urban Development, Indore in Madhya Pradesh has replaced Mysuru as the cleanest city in the country. Mysuru, which was declared the cleanest city in the country in 2016, has now moved down to the fifth position.
The top ten cleanest cities are: Indore, Bhopal, Visakhapatnam, Surat, Mysuru, Tiruchirapally, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Tirupati and Vadodara.
The cities that received the lowest ranking are: Khurja, UP (425 rank), Shahjahanpur, UP (426), Abohar, Punjab (427), Muktsar, Punjab (428), Bahraich, UP (429), Katihar, Bihar (430), Hardoi, Uttarakhand (431), Bagaha, Bihar (432), Bhusawal, Maharashtra (433) and Gonda, UP (434).
