Raichur: In a shocking incident, a woman government employee was kicked, allegedly by her male colleague here on Saturday. The incident was caught on CCTV and the video went viral.
The incident took place at the Sindhanur City Municipal Council (SCMC) when Nasreena was observing fast on account of the holy Ramadan.
Following Nasreena’s complaint, Sharanappa has been dismissed and handed over to the police.
An official at the SCMC stated that “Sharanappa is a contractual employee and the Council had no idea about the incident. We came to know about it only after police informed that Nasreena has complained against Sharanappa.”
“On Saturday, there was a holiday in SCMC office but two employees (Nasreena and Sharanappa) were assigned to work so they could clear some backlog. Nasreena is a permanent employee while Sharanappa is hired on a contract basis as a computer operator,” a senior police official said
“Nasreena was observing fast during Ramzan and is said to have turned up late to work,” the police official said, adding that Sharanappa kicked Nasreena after an argument about her being late.
