New Delhi : BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today moved the Supreme Court seeking e-auctioning of media rights for the Indian Premier League.
A bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice D Y Chandrachud said, “We will think over it”.
Swamy, who has filed the fresh PIL on the issue, sought urgent listing of it saying it has been held by the apex court that the e-auctioning is the best method for awarding contracts.
He also said that the amount involved in the award of IPL media rights is to the tune of Rs 30,000 crore and the issue should not be decided in an opaque manner.
