Kalburgi: Yet another suspected mass suicide case in Karnataka, a four member family hanged self to end life and the incident came into light on Saturday evening. However, the neighbours of the deceased have raised suspicion on the incident based on the way by which the family committed the act.  This is the second reported suspected mass suicide incident in Karnataka within a week after a family of four in Udupi consumed poison with food to end life.

The deceased members of family resided at Saraswathi layout in Kalburgi town and have been identified as Shrikanth Kamalapur (57), his wife Thnushree (50), their son Chethan (20) and daughter Sakshi (16). The door of their residence remained closed for the last two days and on suspicion the nearby residents arrived at the premises of the residence and found the dead bodies hanging inside the house.

Shrikanth was a share market trader whereas his wife was an employee at a private company here. Chethan had been pursuing his college education while Sakshi was a school student.

Based on the way by which the family committed the act, the neighbours suspect that the family may have murdered. However, according to the primary investigation, the police found that huge loss in share market trade might have forced to commit the act. Exact reason for incident is not known and police investigation is in progress.
