Shimla: Four ancient idols of ‘ashtadhatu’, worth lakhs of rupees, have been stolen from the Shrigul Kila Temple in Shimla district’s Chopal sub-division, the police said today.
Four burglars, who had covered their faces, entered the temple and stole the idols, they said, adding that though the incident was caught on CCTV cameras, the accused are yet to be identified.
The cash and other silver articles were not stolen by them. The matter is being investigated and people are being questioned, the police said.
