Muzaffarnagar: A 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her family members in a suspected case of honour killing in Mundet Kala village in Shamli district, police said today.
Satwati’s family members killed her as they suspected the woman had an illicit relationship with her brother-in-law, Superintendent of Police Ajaypal Sharma told reporters.
Her father and other family members confronted her when they came to know about the relationship and stabbed her to death yesterday. The body was dumped in a field, Sharma said.
Four people, including her father and brother, confessed to have killed the woman to uphold the family honour, he said.
The police recovered a car and sharp weapons used in the crime.
