Hejamady and Surathkal toll plaza likely to be merged

Mangaluru: Dr H C Mahadevappa, Minister of PWD said that the National Highway Authority of India will soon be submitting a proposal to state government for the merger of tollgates operating at Suratkal and Hejamady.
On Wednesday, MLA, B A Mohiuddin Bava, on Wednesday November 29 had questioned the government on the issue stating that there are two tool gates in NH66 at a short distance.
In a written reply, the minister said that the toll plazas are temporary and will soon be merged. The same will be sent to the authority’s chief general manager at Bengaluru. The authority has already said that it will soon forward this proposal to the state government, the minister stated.
The minister also said that there was a proposal to only retain the Hejamady toll and scrap off Surathkal Toll gate.
