Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular)-backed Namma TYGR has launched its app-based cab service here.
Namma TYGR, which was launched on Thursday, has already on-boarded 10,000 drivers; 5,000 of them are active while the rest are undergoing background verification processes.
Cab drivers in the past had sought help from HD Kumaraswamy and started HDK Cabs. Kumaraswamy had told that he had invested money in HDK Cabs.
Like other cab aggregators, Namma TYGR is an app based service, using Google map’s geo-positioning system (GPS).
Initially the services will be available in the categories of Special Utility Vehicle (air conditioned), Sedan (AC) and Hatchback (mini cabs).
TYGR coin is where users can deposit their money and use it as per the ride.
