Police Commissioner orders police to open fire on miscreants in self defense

Bengaluru: the increase of attacks on police officers by police by miscreants, Police Commissioner T Sunil Kumar has issued an order for police to open fire on such miscreants in self defence.

The commissioner said that the police are given arms to open fire in case of emergencies. They can now open fire on miscreants for self defence in case they attack on them. He said that the orders were issued to police to take strict action against ‘Rowdism’ in the city.

He also added that all the Deputy Commissioners in the city are instructed not to show any leniency on miscreants who prevent police officers to discharge their duties. The policemen will now compulsorily carry arms during night duty.

The Police Commissioner has said special police teams have been formed to nab the accused in JJ Nagar incident where a rowdy-sheeter attacked a police constable.

The Police Commissioner has said the police sub-inspectors are empowered to close the bars and wine shops for violation of norms. Strict instructions are given to the District Commissioners to keep an eye on bars and wine shops that remain open after the fixed time at night.
