Lorry rams into pedestrian, kills him on spot

Bengaluru: A 48-year-old man died on spot when a speeding lorry mowed him down while he was trying to cross the road in Whitefield on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Shankar, a resident of Seetharampalya. Shankar was a lorry driver himself.

The accident took place when he was returning from his relative’s house in Hosakote. He got down from the bus near Hope Farm in Whitefield on the main road and was trying to cross the road when he speeding lorry rammed into him and killed him on spot.

The Whitefield traffic police have filed a case and arrested the truck driver, Raju.
