Kasaragod: Miscreants deface Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Taliparamba on Thursday. The incident took place on the morning of March 8th around 8:30 am near Taliparamba taluk office.

The miscreants managed to remove and throw away the spectacles and garland that adorned the statue. They, however, failed to further vandalize the statue by hitting it with a heavy object.

Many incidents of statue vandalism have been emerging throughout the country. Recently such acts of vandalism have been witnessed in Tamil Nadu and Tripura. As soon as the police got information about this act of vandalism, they immediately employed preventive measures to maintain law and order.
