Foster daughter kills woman in revenge for forcing her into prostitution

Bengaluru: Vijaya Vasanth, a resident of Chamarajapete was murdered by her foster daughter along with a youth for forcing her into prostitution. The police have arrested the duo and cracked the murder case.

The accused has been identifies as Sonu Poojary (29) and Kumar (21). On March 13 they hacked Vijaya to death using a steel hammer and a wooden log. They fled the spot with Vijaya’s gold ornaments.

The police found a CCTV footage which shows the crime and arrested the duo. Sonu confessed to have committed the crime.

On enquiry she said that her mother left her under Vijaya Vansanth’s before her death when she was four years old. Vijaya Vansath then sold Sonu to a brother in Kamatipura in Mumbai where she led a horrible life.

Sonu also said that during her stay in Mumbai she befriended a Punjabi youth and got married to him. They moved to Bengaluru searching for a livelihood where her husband disappeared in 2016 and never came back.

Sonu then started working at a company in Kempegowda Nagar and was facing financial crisis. She approached Vijaya for help but she turned Sonu away. Sonu then got in touch with Kumar through a manager of her paying guest accommodation and Kumar agreed to execute the murder plan for money. They intoxicated Vijaya before killing her.

Vijaya owned a beauty parlour and resided in Chamarajpet area as a tenant, for over 25 years.
