Girl child raped; complaint lodged

Sagar: A youth raped a girl child. This incident took place on Sunday at Mutre in Chennagonda village of Karoor Hobli.

The rape accused has been identified as Dhananjay from Ballodi village near Byakod. It has been alleged that the accused barged into the house when the child’s parents’ had gone out, raped the girl child and threatened her of dire consequences if she informed anyone about this incident.

As Dhananjay was threatening the child he observed that the parents were returning back and made his escape.

Once the parents returned home, the child informed them of the incident. The child was admitted to Sagar sub-division hospital on Monday where she is receiving treatment. A complaint has been lodged at Kargal police station and the police have cast a net to catch the accused.
