Renowned cartoonist Prabhakar Raobail passes away

Bengaluru: Famous cartoonist Prabhakar Raobail passed away at the age of 81 at his residence in Bengaluru late on Wednesday night. 

Prabhakar was born on November 17, 1937, at Bailangadi on Karnataka-Kerala border. He graduated in BSc degree from Bangalore Central College and did his diploma in J Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai. 

Raobail’s cartoons have been published in many English dailies, and a few Kannada magazines. His works have additionally discovered a place in kids’ books and greeting cards supported by UNICEF, Cry among others. The Indian Institute of Cartoonists had chosen Raobail for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Raobail is survived by his wife Kumudini Rao, a prominent dancer, and two daughters.
