Uppunda: Car-Bike accident, bike incinerated, rider dies

Kundapura: A bike rider died on the spot after an over-speeding car hit his bike at Maravanthe near Gangolli on Sunday, May 20th.
The deceased has been identified as Puneeth Poojary (25), son of Muttaiah Poojary, a resident of Thaggarse near Byndoor.
Puneeth and his friend Rajesh were travelling from Kundapur to thier home at Byndoor when the tragedy occurred en route. As they reached Thaggarse, a car that was being driven at a very high speed in the opposite direction, collided with their bike. Due to the impact of the accident, the bike caught fire and got completely incinerated. Puneeth, who was riding the bike died on the spot due to the impact.
The car which caused this accident sustained severe damage on its front portion. The pillion rider Rajesh is being treated at a private hospital in Kaundapur.
It is understood that Puneeth, the deceased, had bought a new bike on Saturday, May 19th.
MLA of Byndoor Sukumar Shetty visited the spot and consoled the family members of the deceased person.
