Hassan: A resident of Alur taluk has alleged that even seven months after registering a complaint, the Alur police has not arrested a person who had allegedly abducted his 17 year old daughter. His daughter, a second PU student, was reported missing on November 13, 2017 and a complaint was filed on November 16, 2017. In the complaint, the parents suspected H.S. Raghu in the incident, who was allegedly following their daughter.
The father claimed that the police did not take any action regarding the complaint and traced her only when a habeas corpus was moved in the Karnataka High Court. In April, the girl was traced and she is now at a girls’ home run by the Women and Child Welfare Department. She told the counsellors of the Child Welfare Committee that she was at Raghu’s brother’s place in Arehalli when the police found her.
The girl’s father complained that the police have not taken any steps to arrest the abductors. He also said that his daughter could not write her II PU examinations because of the incident. Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police R.K. Shahapurwad said that the police was making efforts to arrest the accused.
