Eight motorcycle thieves including five PU students arrested

Mangaluru: The police have successfully arrested a gang of eight bike thieves responsible for a series of motor bike thefts happening of late in the district. Five of the thieves are PU students aged between 16 and 18. All the students are from Kerala.
The police have secured a car and three motor bikes from the arrested persons. The police hope to seize around 20 vehicles from them in course of time. Reportedly, the arrested thieves confessed that they learnt the art of unlocking motor bikes by seeing a video on Youtube.
During the last three months, the district police had received over 25 complaints about theft of vehicles from the spots where they were parked. The police team working under the guidance of city police commissioner, Vipul Kumar, deputy commissioners of police and assistant commissioner of police and with the leadership of Inspector Yogish made the arrest.
