Parameshwara assembled a conference of BBMP officials on Saturday evening.

He guided the officials to pay the pending dues to the contractors in order to ensure that tidiness of the city isn’t effected. The pending dues of street lightmanagers should also be cleared, he said.

Then, the DCM called upon Metropolitan Cleanliness and Lorry Owners and Contractors’ Association General Secretary S N Balasubrahmanyan and asked for to drop the inconclusive strike as he guaranteed that ‘all measures will be taken to pay the pending bills before 3 pm on June 11.’

However, Balasubrahmanyan stated, “It isn’t just the issue of payment. The system of the BBMP should also be changed. In this way, to talk about every one of these things we need time,” and asked for an appointment.

Balasubrahmanyan said that meeting has been scheduled with the minister and association members on Monday at 11 am. It is yet to decide about proceeding with the strike.

BBMP Mayor R. Sampathraj, who was additionally present at the conference, said that they talked about taking precautionary measures in the monsoon and about the issue of cleanliness. He would likewise visit Karanala kere and Bellanduru Kere with the DCM on Monday.
