Chief Minister orders police department to control communal disturbances in the state

Bengaluru: Chief Minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy, said that some journalist and frces supporting casteism have been attempting to bring up pointless debates keeping in mind the end goal to convey offensiveness to the state government. 

He was addressing media people subsequent to holding meeting with police officers at the state police central command here on Friday June 22. 

He cautioned all associations and establishments, without respect to which religion they have alliance, of strict activity if they attempt to ignite communal disturbances in the state. He advised cops to ensure that exercises which prompt communal passions do not happen anywhere in the state. “In the event that such things happen, respective district superintendents of police and inspector generals of police would be held accountable,” he stated. 

Kumaraswamy said that no association including Sri Ram Sene should turn out with statements which can trigger communal sentiments. “We will keep close vigil on the activities of such associations or people. We have found a way to direct crime rate in the state, take care to see that law and order circumstance isn’t vitiated, and transform the police headquarters into people friendly offices,” he included. 

In the meantime, Kumaraswamy said that police staff would not be transferred based on their religious and rank affiliations. He said he anticipates that police force will work admirably at their respective areas of posting and gain a decent reputation for the government.

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr G Parameshwar, expressed that vacant positions in police office like constables, inspectors, and police sub-inspectors would be filled in stages.
