JK Krishna Reddy becomes deputy speaker of Assembly

Bengaluru: J K Krishna Reddy, the JD(S) MLA from Chintamani constituency in Chikkaballapur was chosen as Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Friday, July 6.
As Krishna Reddy was the only candidate to record his nomination paper, he was decided to the post unopposed. Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar reported Krishna Reddy’s consistent decision as the deputy speaker of the Assembly.
The 51-year-old JD(S) leader was prior chosen to the Legislative Assembly when the BJP government controlled the State.
He was chosen to the Lower House from Chintamani constituency in Chikkaballapur region by overcoming M C Sudhakar, independent MLA, in the 2018 Assembly elections.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, leader of the Opposition B S Yeddyurappa, and a few other officials complimented Krishna Reddy for his consistent decision to the post.
