Initiated at Daddalkadu Higher Primary School

Bantwal: “Give miss call.. Join hands to save government school” is the message getting shared on social networks. This action has been initiated under the leadership of Anil Shetty and Prakash Anchan giving call for the creation of a state education policy, to organize a walk rally from Freedom Park to Vidhana Soudha to meet the CM H.D. Kumaraswamy and thereby create a peoples movement.

This movement was initiated at a programme in Daddalkadu H.P. School on July 18th. This action has been taken to attract the people’s attention towards government school and to create an effective education policy by the representatives of the people to increase the provision of basic facilities at government schools to attract children.

Why missed call?

The reason for ‘Missed Call Movenment’ is that many government schools are getting closed due to the lack of basic facilities as well as due to the lack of students. In a few schools, if there are teachers, there is a lack of students. In few other schools if there are students but they face a lack of teachers. And in those few schools which have everything, there are absolutely no students.

A Daddalkadu in Bantwal taluk , a youth group named Sri Durga Friends Club had adopted a government school. In four years time period, the number of students at this school has increased from a handful to 500. Through the charity provided by good souls, the school has its own building.

This movement has come into existence to save government schools. To further this cause and to save government schools throughout the state, this ‘Missed Call Movement’ has been started. After giving call for this movement, more than 25,000 calls have been received informs Sri Durga Friends president Prakash Anchan.

Walk rally on September 8th

A wall rally has been organized from Freedom Park to Vidhana Soudha at morning 11 am on September 8th. The future of over 50 lakh student pursuing their education in government schools is in our hands. Come, take part in the movement and demand the government to create a state education policy.
