Mangaluru: Who is not interested in a Java bike? Riding a Java bike is a pleasure in itself. The sound of Yezdi Java, onetime strong competitor of Bullet was heard in Mangaluru.

Yes… on the occasion of the international Java Day, Yezdi, Java bike owners group organized a programme to impart information on road safety at the corporation ground in Kadri on Sunday, July 22nd.

During the programme, 60 Java bikes were on display which attracted everyone’s gaze. In that too, the Java bikes of 1960’s and 1996’s commanded extra attention.

Bike owners from many places including Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Udupi, Karwar, Kasaragod and Puttur kept their Java’s on display.

Honour, information on safety

Volunteers who give their service as traffic wardens were honoured during the programme. A proramme on road safety was also conducted for the gathered. There was a quiz conducted and the winners were given prizes.

Java craze still endures

Java bike which is considered to be the king of bikes still has much fan following in the district. Although Java bikes were launched in 1960, the celebration of Java Day is proof enough to show that the Java bike craze still endures in the city.
