Newborn dies in hospital, parents blame the doctors

Belagavi: A day old child died in Belagavi on the first day of the Statewide strike by private doctors on Saturday.

Basappa and Lakshmavva Changle’s baby boy was born in Gokak on Friday and was suffering from breathing problems. It was moved to Lake View Hospital in Belagavi on Saturday. It died a couple of hours later. 

Despite the fact that the parents complained that the baby died because of the negligence of doctors, the hospital has denied it. Basappa revealed to TV channels that the doctors did not take care of the infant for quite a long time after it was admitted. “If they had treated the child sooner, it would have survived,” he said. 

Girish Sonwalkar, a doctor at Lake View Hospital, told the media that the charge was false. “Doctors treated the child soon after it was admitted. But, it didn’t survive as its condition was serious,” he said.
