Bantwal: A few students of a school fought with each other resulting in one of the students sustaining grievous injuries and getting hospitalized on Saturday, July 28th.

The injured student has been identified as Abhishek (13), an eight standard student of a private educational institution near Vamadapadav in the taluk. He is receiving treatment in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of a private hospital for the serious injuries he suffered in the altercation, it is understood.

On Saturday afternoon, after the school hours, a squabble occurred between Abhishek and two classmates. The altercation took a violent turn after the two classmates together attacked Abhishek. Other students who found the victim pale and feeble took him to his grandfather’s home nearby.

The students on the other hand also informed their teachers on the situation, who referred the student to a local doctor. But, by then Abhishek’s condition had deteriorated and hence was rushed to a private hospital at Thumbay, from where he was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for more specialized treatment.

Abhishek is receiving treatment in the ICU of the hospital and he is out of danger, informed his parents.

A complaint on the incident has been registered with the Punjalkatte police by Abhishek’s mother, Bharathi. Details on the incident have been gathered from the parents of the students and head of the school management committee after they were summoned to the station.

However, Punjalkatte station house officer said that no case was registered relating to this incident.
