Student dies after keeping her illness a secret

Moodbidri: A college student, who had kept her illness a secret from her family died after her condition aggravated on Saturday evening, July 28th.
The deceased lady has been identified as Yakshitha (19), daughter of Krishna Poojary, resident of Nerkere near Ashwattapura. She was a second year B.Com student of Siddakatte first Grade College.
It is understood that she was suffering from diabetes and blood pressure problem since some time but had chosen not to inform the same to her family.
Reason for hiding the illness
Krishna Poojary, who was earlier working as a tailor was currently confided to his home without work due to leg pain. His another daughter, was pursuing tailoring training at Billava Association at Moodbidri. The family was sustained by the meager income of his wife who used to tie beedies.
Considering the situation of her family, Yakshitha chose to hide her illness from them. She used to return back from the college and go to sleep without giving any reason. Whenever her mother asked, she would reply it was nothing.
When she was taken ill and was unable to attend college for two consecutive days, the family got scared and got her admitted at a private hospital in Mangaluru. But, by then her blood pressure and diabetes condition had exacerbated and as a result she failed to respond to the given treatment and lost her young life on Saturday evening.
