Youth arrested for smuggling liqour

Karwar: A man was arrested for attempts to smuggle liqour worth 1 lakh from Goa.

The accused has been identified as Vinay Shanta Nagerayaa of Bandishatta.

 It has been reported that the accused was trying his ways to smuggle Goan liquor worth Rs 1 lakh in a car near Binagapatana of the Karwar district, on Friday.

Based on a tip off the police led by Inspector Sharanagowda Patil made a search operation and intercepted the vehicle. They seized the car, along with liqour bottles and arrested the accused.

A case has been registered at the Karwar Rural police station.
