- Low air pressure persists
Mangaluru: The depression in air pressure created over the Arabian Sea is currently moving towards Oman. The change of course is unlikely to affect Dakshina Kannada and other coastal Karnataka areas, observed the meteorological department.
However, if the waves gained momentum, then the depression might turn into a cyclone, noted the department. Therefore, it has warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea for fishing till October 10th. The coastal districts might get rainfall coupled with thunder for the next two days, it observed.
The department warned that the low air pressure area in the sea that has converted into cyclone is moving towards Kerala. The cyclone is likely to enter Kerala in the next 36 hours, which might result in thunderstorms in Kerala as well as Tamil Nadu, it said.
