Woman sneaking ganja for jail inmate held by CCB police

Mangaluru: A 25-year-old woman was caught with 20 grammes of marijuana which she was allegedly trying to sneak to an inmate lodged at the district jail.

Acting on a tip-off, the City Crime Branch (CCB) police team led by Inspector Shantharam caught the woman from outside the district jail here on Thursday, October 11

The City Crime Branch (CCB) police on Thursday, October 11, has nabbed a 25-year-old woman for allegedly procuring ganja for an inmate of the district jail. Reportedly the woman was regularly visiting the jail to meet an inmate named Mustafa, who happens to be a drug addict. Mustafa had asked the lady to smuggle ganja into the jail for his use. 

Investigations revealed that the woman had on an earlier occasion managed to sneak ganja inside the jail without being caught. 

The CCB police handed over the woman custody to the Barke police and a case has been registered at the station. Meanwhile, the woman is currently out on bail.
