Gambling at public place: Seven punters held

Mangaluru: Seven persons indulging in gambling activities at a public spot near River Dale at Kadekar of Jappinamogaru village were held by the Kankanady police on Tuesday.
Prashanth, 34, of Boourukatte Thingalaya compound, Naijil Montero, 36, a Bendoor resident, Nasir, 52, of Kumpala, Farooq, 54, of Mukkachheri, Tayyub Hussain, 50, of Kunjattabail Marakada, Abdul Lathif, 55, of Ullal and Zameer Ahmed, 42, of Bolara Emmekere are the arrested.
Based on reliable information team of police personnel led by Kankanady police inspector Ashoka P raided the spot and arrested the accused and confiscated six mobile phones, Rs 30,090 in cash, a pack of cards and four bikes from their possession.
