BBMP submits affidavit to HC on hoardings in the city

Bengaluru: The BBMP on Friday submitted to the Karnataka High Court that 1565 hoardings structures have been removed so far and 86 such structures are left to be removed.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike informed the Karnataka High Court that 1565 hoardings structures have been removed so far.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari was hearing a PIL.
BBMP in its affidavit stated that, it has received 704 objections from the general public with regard to the BBMP Outdoor Signage and Public Messaging Bye-laws for which it has sought for objections from the public.
The BBMP also said that the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) has examined the samples submitted by advertising agencies for displaying at bus shelters and skywalks. After examining, CIPET has certified that the samples provided are of a thermoplastic material which is recyclable and is PVC free.
