Mangaluru: Five fishermen who were left stranded in mid-sea after their trawler boat went out of control were rescued in nick of time by fishermen from Sasihitlu on Monday, November 26.

At around 3 am on November, fishermen spotted the boat named Anjana Varshini moving erratically in the waters. Realising that the boat and the men aboard it were in danger, the local fishermen swung into action and tugged the boat ashore.

It is gathered that the driver of the boat, which had set out on a  fishing expedition from Malpe was unable to exercise control over it whereafter it started drifting astray.

Coastal Security Force personnel and local lifeguards assisted in the rescue operation.
